WHAT DO I WANT?
Desires Identification Tool
Until you know what you want, and have committed it to writing, you may have trouble identifying and reaching your goals. The following questions will help you identify what you want. Write the answers on a sheet of paper, and then take a guess at what's most important. Continue to prioritize your second, third, etc. choices.
What?
- What do I want, what is the goal?
- What is the tangible/measurable outcome I want?
- What are the obstacles?
- What are the intermittent steps/intermittent goals?
- What must I give up or change?
- What must I do right now to help myself?
Why?
- Why do I want this (intangible benefits)?
- Why do I have a passion for this?
- Why does this give me pleasure?
How?
- How can I accomplish this?
- How can I create this?
- How has anyone else achieved this?
- How do I know what steps to take to get what I want?
- When will I start?
- When will I be at each stage?
- When will I reach it?
Where?
- Where will it take me?
- Where am I now in relation to where I want to go?
